Summer and fall are beautiful seasons here at Bear Rock Suites! With hundreds of miles of trails for ATVing and hiking, rivers for canoeing, and scenic overlooks for foliage spotting, you won’t have any problem finding ways to enjoy the mild weather in the Great North Woods.
Here are some things you can do here in the summer, all conveniently located for your enjoyment.
ATV/UTV & OHRVING Riding
The more than 1000 miles of trails in the Great North Country are perfectly suited for summertime All-terrain vehicle (ATV) and Off-Highway Recreational Vehicle (OHRV) riding. Enjoy breathtaking views, challenging terrain, and miles of rugged trails through forests, fields, and along secluded waterways. There are many ATV rental companies in the area to jump start your summer or fall adventure.
HIKING & SIGHTSEEING
People come from all over the country just to witness the spectacular fall foliage in New Hampshire in September and October. The North Country features plenty of hiking opportunities, too, from beginner family hikes on well-marked trails to more advanced hikes up steep inclines. Hike Mount Magalloway in Pittsburg NH for sweeping views of vibrant fall colors, or try Dixville Notch for its panoramic vistas from Table Rock.
Canoeing, Kayaking, Rafting
The North Country plays host to a wide range of paddling opportunities. Whether you want to go canoeing, kayaking or white water rafting, there’s something for everyone at every ability level. The Connecticut Lakes and River feature miles of secluded waterways that you can explore with canoes or kayaks. Check out The Androscoggin, the Rapid or the Magalloway River for white water rafting. Don’t miss the Lake Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge for fishing and wild life tours.
